Rosario Wilke
Rosario Wilke born in Bolivia is a self thought and an accomplished fine artist with a background in business and design.
Award winning artist and instructor who since early age develops her passion for art and after working with a different number of media she finds her passion in three-dimensional art form.
She enjoys working with gourds, natural fibers, copper and aluminum, because these media are versatile and challenging “the possibilities are endless from vessels, free standing sculptures to wall hanging pieces” she says.
Her pieces are distinctive for being one of a kind from contemporary to southwest style and her work is recognizable because of the different carving techniques she employs and her use of glass beads, precious and semi-precious stones, copper; copper accents, copper tubing, copper wire and/or copper shards which she torches one piece at the time for each individual project.
Rosario Wilke is well-known for her fanciful decorative dolls, wall hanging pieces, sculptural basketry and vessels which incorporate unique sculptural forms and bold decorative features. and design.
