The Artist

Denise Pinnell

I create nautical themed 3-Dimensional Steampunk Wall Art in polymer clay. I am originally from the UK where I was always creative but only as a hobby, something to do on all those rainy days. When we moved to the US in 2010 my neighbor introduced me to polymer clay. Having started with jewelry and wine glass charms I took a steampunk class in 2018 and it quickly became my passion. Since becoming a studio partner in the Spanish Village Art Centre down in Balboa Park, San Diego in 2021 it has become my sole focus. My art is whimsical, my fish are nearly always wearing hats and up to some sort of mischief (cooking, playing tennis etc.) … I wonder what they’ll be up to next.
