About

The Artist

Linda Lepeirs

Drawn by a lifelong sense of wonder and awe for landscapes, seascapes, flowers, and expansive skies, Linda’s recent works now reach into the beauty of deep space. Inspired by imagery from the Webb and Hubble telescopes, she translates these vast, luminous scenes into oil paintings.

Painting since her 20s, she deepened her artistic practice after retirement, expanding both her technique and creative focus. What began as photography to support her painting soon evolved into a distinct and complementary art form.

Oil Painting: Inspired by skies, water, light, and deep space, Linda works primarily in oils. Largely self-taught, her style ranges from realism and impressionism to impasto and abstraction. She paints in her sunlit home studio and Studio 34B at Spanish Village Art Center.

Photography: Linda’s photography has evolved through experimentation with film manipulation, digital enhancement, and natural imagery. With the advent of digital tools, her work has gained new depth and versatility. She captures local landscapes and scenes from her travels across the U.S. and Europe.

Artist Statement
“I have always experienced awe at the beauty of landscapes, seascapes, and skies, and now at the wonder of deep space. Influenced by NASA’s images, I interpret this vast beauty through oil painting.
The limitless possibilities of oil painting and photographic techniques bring me deep joy in creative expression. As an artist, I seek to share the beauty of nature so that others may find in it a sense of delight and serenity.”
