Danielle Deaton
Watercolor, Gouache Painting
Danielle Deaton, a native of Paris, France, studied at the College Sainte Barbe in Paris. At 16 years old, she came to the United States with her mother and sister to rejoin her father.
She continued her studies in Salt Lake City at St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch and at the University of Utah. She came to San Diego, graduated from San Diego State University and continued her studies at SDSU, UCSD and at USIU.
Her watercolor paintings have found their way throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Danielle loves to paint a variety of subjects, including desert scenes, flowers, trees, houses and ships.
She was commissioned to paint historical houses and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Chula Vista.
In June 2001, she was commissioned by the crew of the John Paul Jones destroyer, stationed at The Naval Station in San Diego, to paint a large watercolor of the ship for their Commanding Officer. It was the first U.S. ship in Afghanistan to retaliate for the attack on 9-11-01.
Danielle has her studio in Balboa Park, in Spanish Village.
